EXPRESSIONS FROM REVOLUTION
In such moments of change and urgency, art is where we find a possible language to express so many difficult issues. These are themes and approaches that would be too chaotic for any other type of expression.
This exhibit is an overview of revolutionary manifestations in Egypt and Tunisia, features that have the density of a matrix wave of transformation with pacific and secular insurgency followed by other occurrences around the world.
Aesthetically speaking, it’s aggressiveness touches our senses, defies technology, means of communication, social networks and also our understanding of ethics, humanity and the relationship between power and peace.
Therefore the “beauty” is to be found in making it possible for people to see the “strength” to draw new geopolitical lines and the cultural and human relationships that rise from crises. It is a sort of “contextual art” in which the masterpieces are documental testimony and also active part for it’s context changes.
In this project, in order to keep the living principle of “trojan horse work” the curator has an added role as articulator making action and discussion move forward, connecting Porto Alegre, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, in an effort to synchronize with other parts of the world and the internet during this coming month of June, so full of international meetings.
As part of the first edition of this great festival, “Expressions from Revolution 2” would like to thank Democracine and all partners, articulators and supporters, for making it possible to convey such wide range of knowledge and art to enrich the citizen, the basic cell of democracy.
