Shady El Noshokaty

Shady El Noshokaty é artista contemporânea egípcio reconhecido internacionalmente. Foi curador executivo para o projeto artistico de Ahmed Basiony – “30 dias correndo sem sair do lugar” – no pavilhão egípcio da Biennale de Veneza de 2011. (Obra integrante da Expressões da Revolução – Democracine 2012)

Professor na Faculty of Art Education, Hellwan University e também da American University in Cairo, foi premiado com o título de PhD em filosofia da arte educação em 2007 com a tese “Media Art and New Egyptian Identity”.

Em 2010 estrutura a ASCII – Fundação para Educação em Arte Contemporâna – com o objetivo de desenvolver novos pensadores para as praticas em novas medias e medias alternativas envolvendo código aberto, plataformas colaborativas e cultura livre.

Tunisia:
Lotfi Kaabi

Lotfi Kaabi was born and raised in Tunisia, studied in the ex-USSR, France and Germany. He obtained M.S in Geophysics, M.S in Economics, M.B.A and PhD in Space Technology and  tought at UCLA before returning to Tunisia for teaching, he also held the position of Space Applications Department at the Min. of Scientific research.

Lotfi was outspoken and politically engaged against the dictator. In 2002,  he has chosen the exile to Britain, where he founded Planet Art eXchange - http://pax08.com/, and alternative cultural production company. In 2011 Lotfi took an active participation in the Tunisian revolution and founded the Institute for Citizenship – http://idec.tn - before being appointed head of the Tunisian Institute for Strategic Studies and later Tunisian President Advisor for Innovation and Social Development.
